42^nd Street Production Meeting Minutes

Thursday June 28^th 5:45 pm

In attendance: Jesee, Megan, Rebecca, Barb, Ron, Jessie

Gave out contracts and comps to those in attendance.

Next Meeting:  Tuesday July 19^th 5:45 pm (we're not meeting during Smokey's "hell week")

Set:

Battens:

1-Black (Ron would like a star drop, discussed ways of making one for less than a billion dollars)

2- Regency Club-SL (?) is where the bar is, Ron would like a shelf with bottles, and maybe a mirror

3. Dressing room- 10 by 12 in front of which are a chaise lounge a vanity (will use blondes and transform)

4. Dames drop- 5 archways with sheer material in the openings. 

5. cyc (on which there will be a train station projection at one point. 

6. Electric

7.  Train car drop with openings curtained for number

8. Street drop

12.  Finale drop (42^nd street) with light bulbs, ½ to 1/3 less than Producers. 

There will be stairs for the finale they will stay in theatre propped up so that they are pulled from feet into place, in three pieces. 

Will put dressing on the stairs to make it look like the backstage of the two different theatres.  Cork boards with notices etc. 

Will build road boxes/crates with theatre's names to also denote location.

Will have footlights, have some, might want to alter/fix up, and make look more period.

Want the baby grand shell and rolling bar for hotel scene

Need a period phone hung somewhere "backstage"

Dimes to dance on for we're in the money 3

Props-

Went over list

Lot's of luggage, hat boxes, each lady needs a purse. (should have all of these)

Bird cage (don't have)

Props AND set build will work on the 28 dimes that are 24" with a fabric handle that are not stapled on.  Builders will cut out, props will make handles and paint. 

Ron action items: find reference pics for barb.  Assign parts for man, woman child in beginning of script.

Music Sound

We'll have a new sound board, so every cast member will have a mic. 

The new sound board will be put in after Smokey has closed. 

Ron wants everything sexy and aggressive.
